Academics

Every month, the children engage in a comprehensive learning experience at school, thanks to a meticulously planned curriculum crafted by the coordinators. This curriculum is brimming with activities and practical life skills, alongside essential subjects such as reading, writing, languages, science, math, and social studies. The result is a well-rounded growth for the children, ensuring they develop in all aspects of life. Here is a brief of the curriculum for this month.

PTM

Parent-Teacher Meeting


This month, we conducted a Parent-Teacher Meeting for our project + 10 students. The meeting was well-attended, with 17 out of 18 participants present.

The primary focus of the PTM was to discuss student attendance and strategies for improving academic performance. Key points covered during the meeting included:


Student Attendance:

- Review of each student's attendance record.

- Discussion on the impact of attendance on academic performance and overall development.

- Suggestions for parents to support regular attendance and punctuality.


Academic Performance:

- Students' academic achievements and areas needing improvement.

- Feedback from teachers on individual student progress.

- Recommendations for additional resources or support to help students excel academically.

- Encouragement of open communication between parents and teachers to track ongoing progress.


Overall, the PTM served as a valuable opportunity for parents and teachers to collaborate, share insights, and develop actionable plans to support the students' educational journey.


Sankranthi Activities

Makara Sankranthi Celebrations at Our School


Makara Sankranthi is a significant festival for the local community, marked by joy and excitement. To honor this occasion, students are given a two-day holiday. At school, the celebrations are vibrant and filled with fun activities. Children come dressed in beautiful traditional attire, adding to the festive spirit. The entire school comes alive as students partake in various cultural events and games, making Makara Sankranthi a memorable experience for all.


Sports Day With Anko Team

The K4 and K5 children had an incredible time with the Anko team. They organized a sports event for our students at the Machaxi Ahalya Sports Centre. The activities included:


Running Race / Throw Ball / Ball in the Basket / In and Out / Puzzle Game / Moon, Star, and Earth Game


Everyone was provided with snacks and lunch, ensuring they had energy to enjoy the day. The winners received medals: 1st Prize: Gold Medal 2nd Prize: Silver Medal 3rd Prize: Bronze Medal. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had great fun with the Anko team.


Leadership Workshop

Building Blocks recently hosted Ms. Kelly and Ms. Kate from The Chicago School (TCS) for leadership workshops at our schools, which had a profound impact on our staff. TCS is a nonprofit university that enhances health in individuals, organizations, and communities through education and real-world experiences. Ms. Kelly and Ms. Kate were inspired by our work with marginalized students and identified potential areas for collaboration, including online learning activities and fostering student resilience.
